Description

The EMT-Basic Certificate Course represents the first response of the emergency medical system. Be prepared to care for patients at the scene of an accident and transport patients by ambulance to the hospital under the direction of more highly trained medical personnel. Learn basic emergency skills to assess a patient’s condition and manage respiratory, cardiac, and trauma emergencies. This course combines 100 hours of online training, and 80 hours of classroom instruction that includes hands-on learning. Participants will be required to schedule an ambulance ride-along outside of regular class hours. This course is approved by the State of Delaware Office of Emergency Medical Services and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. Internship/clinical experience included (hours may vary from course schedule).


Minimum 10.0 grade-level equivalent in Reading required.
