Description
The Nursing Assistant/Home Healthcare Aide is a trained medical professional who can work in a variety of settings. This certificate
program is designed for students desiring training to become certified nursing assistants. This program prepares the student, upon
graduation, to sit for the Delaware State Nursing Assistant Certification Examination and for an entry-level position as a nursing
assistant. Students are required to participate in a clinical learning experience at an approved nursing facility under the supervision
of an instructor. Classroom instruction is provided in theory and practical skills including anatomy and physiology, cardiopulmonary
resuscitation, and professional career and development courses. Upon certification the successful candidate may seek entry-level
employment in one of the following positions: certified nursing assistant in a hospital setting assisted living facility, centers for the
developmentally disabled, retirement home, long-term care facility private home, and/or other skilled or unskilled nursing facility or
home healthcare company.
