A class incumbent provides critical training services to support the mission of the Department of Correction (DOC) by developing, delivering and evaluating all curriculums delivered by the Training Academy. JOB REQUIREMENTS for Correctional Training Instructor
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- At least 19 and ½ years of age.
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years’ experience in working with offenders in a correctional facility and/or a community supervision unit with responsibility for security, custody, and rehabilitation of inmates.
- Two years’ experience in presenting training or education courses using a variety of training methods such as lecture, e-training, structured exercises, role play or group discussion as well as the use of training materials such as overheads, PowerPoint, handouts or videos.
- Two years’ experience in preparing and developing training or education courses which includes designing learning objectives, curricula and materials.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
