Job Description

Twinkle Little Stars Early Education Center is expanding our teaching team and looking for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher – Behavioral Support to lead a small morning group of approximately six children.

Part-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. | $20–$22 per hour

This position is designed for an educator who enjoys working with a smaller group and is especially strong in classroom management, positive behavior support, and helping young children develop self-regulation skills.

With a small group, you'll have the opportunity to provide more individualized attention, build meaningful relationships, and create the structure and consistency children need to be successful.

What You'll Do

You will lead the group's complete morning from arrival through the transition to nap, including:

  • Morning arrival and breakfast
  • Circle time and morning meeting
  • Developmentally appropriate instruction and learning activities
  • Centers, play, and social-emotional learning
  • Outdoor and gross-motor activities
  • Lunch and daily classroom routines
  • Transition to nap/rest time

A key part of this role is helping children strengthen skills such as following directions, managing emotions, transitioning between activities, respecting classroom expectations, and interacting appropriately with peers.

You'll use consistent routines, clear expectations, positive reinforcement, redirection, and developmentally appropriate strategies to help children have successful and productive mornings.

Following the transition to nap, children will return to their primary classrooms for the remainder of the day.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is warm but firm, patient but consistent, and confident leading a classroom.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has experience working in an early childhood classroom
  • Has strong classroom and behavior-management skills
  • Understands how to establish routines, expectations, and appropriate boundaries
  • Can remain calm and consistent when children are having challenging moments
  • Understands positive reinforcement and developmentally appropriate redirection
  • Can adapt activities and approaches to meet different developmental and behavioral needs
  • Is comfortable independently leading a small group
  • Communicates well with children, families, teachers, and center leadership
  • Is dependable, patient, organized, and team-oriented

Experience in behavioral support, special education, inclusion, social-emotional learning, or working with children who need additional behavioral support is a plus.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Monday–Friday
  • 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
  • Approximately 25 hours per week
  • $20–$22 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Twinkle Little Stars also supports continued professional growth, including CDA pathway assistance for team members interested in advancing their early childhood education credentials.
