Insight Global is seeking an experienced Azure Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available network architectures within Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure networking services, hybrid connectivity, and network security, and will collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support enterprise cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage Azure networking components, including Virtual Networks (VNets), Subnets, Network Security Groups (NSGs), Azure Firewall, VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute, and Load Balancers.

Architect and implement hybrid connectivity solutions between on-premises data centers and Azure environments (Site-to-Site VPN, ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN).

Configure and manage Azure Route Tables, Peering, Private Link/Private Endpoints, and DNS (Azure DNS/Private DNS Zones).

Implement and maintain network security controls, including NSGs, Azure Firewall, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and DDoS Protection.

Monitor network performance and health using Azure Network Watcher, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics; troubleshoot connectivity and latency issues.

Experience in Elastic is highly desirable.

Collaborate with security teams to ensure network configurations align with compliance and governance requirements (e.g., Zero Trust principles, CIS benchmarks).

Automate network provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform) and scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI).

Support multi-region and multi-subscription network architectures, including hub-and-spoke topologies.

Document network designs, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network incidents to minimize downtime.

Stay current with Azure networking updates, best practices, and emerging technologies.

This is a fully remote contract role, with the potential for permanent hire.

Compensation:

$70/hr to $80/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

10+ years of hands-on experience with Azure networking services in a production environment.

Strong understanding of core networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, subnetting, and firewalls, SD-WAN, Cisco networking.

Proven experience with Azure VNets, NSGs, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, and Load Balancer/Application Gateway.
