Job Description
The position coordinates utility work and relocations for capital projects, working with utility companies, designers, and contractors to identify utilities, resolve conflicts, minimize construction impacts, prepare utility statements, review submissions, track project activity, and address utility issues during construction. This position is considered Report When Contacted (RWC) and may have to report during emergency situations and severe weather events. Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Engineering/Planning/Surveying Technician III
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
Public Utility Coordination
- Six months experience in reviewing construction plans and details, project plans, specifications, schematics or technical drawings to determine compliance.
- Six months experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Six months experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
- Knowledge of coordinating public utility relocations in roadway or bridge construction contracts.
- Knowledge of interpreting laws, rules and regulations pertaining to public utility relocation and installation in public right-of-way.
- Knowledge of project management which includes planning, developing, implementing, managing and evaluating projects to ensure objectives are met.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
