Job Description

Global Energy Leader (The LYCRA Company LLC / Wilmington, DE) – Lead network of energy managers and professionals at enterprise level across global footprint; promote best practices with responsibility for strategy and management systems for global energy management so as to promote accountability and continuous improvement; drive improvement strategies to reduce energy intensity in support of company sustainability programs which include technology upgrades; leverage third party vendors to scope and execute technology upgrades; oversee global energy management systems (governance, review/upgrade, internal and third party audits/assessments, external scanning for emerging issues) ensure flawless compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and alignment with internal EHS risk profile; develop global energy team capabilities, with a view to upgrading knowledge and skills, building succession plans, and ensuring all manufacturing sites have adequate capacity and capabilities to meet required energy performance standards (including effective training and development systems, processes, and tools); evolve forums to better foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across regions and facilities, consistent with ‘one global asset, one global team’ mental model; provide visibility of key risks to the global leadership team, with corresponding recommendations regarding risk mitigation; exercise good critical thinking when faced with complex or ambiguous challenges, being willing to seek help and escalate issues to facilitate necessary interventions in a timely manner. Requires Bachelor’s in Paper Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or another closely related Engineering field and five years of experience in job offered or as a Center of Excellence Leader – Energy and/or Senior Energy Engineer (Corporate Energy Manager) and/or Lead Energy Consultant and/or Technical Advisor. Background in education, training or experience must include experience in manufacturing sector; subject matter expert, including technical proficiency around industrial-scale utilities processes and energy regulations; proven leadership experience spanning multiple countries; strong project and process management skills, with experience managing projects and/or change initiatives, including leading multi – functional teams on continuous improvement programs and providing technical advice and guidance; knowledge of energy consumption best practices and strategies for transformation; demonstrated ability to assess the theoretical energy requirements and strategies for transformation; good business acumen, strategic thinker, flexible, resilient, and composed under pressure; strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to influence without authority and foster effective collaboration between stakeholders; demonstrated ability to develop strategic partnerships with external parties (import of specialist knowledge, skills, and capabilities); demonstrated ability to identify technology investments based on critical thinking and economic analysis and engage with stakeholders to seek support; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Domestic and international travel 20-30% to company sites required.
