Job Description
Employees in this class series perform judicial case processing work supporting the timely and efficient progression of cases through the assigned Delaware court. Work includes applying court and related procedures, practices, and standards to review, prepare, process, and maintain a variety of legal/court documents and records.Work requires a general knowledge and understanding of the assigned court’s cases, operations, and jurisdiction, as well as laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures applicable to case processing activities, to provide information, receive and process documents, and assist with routine inquiries without providing legal advice. Judicial Case Processors regularly interact with the public, often in sensitive and confidential situations. As a result, work requires professionalism, tact, discretion, sound judgement, and strong commitment to customer service when greeting visitors, answering phones, and interacting with court users and internal staff.
As a result, work performed has a direct impact on the public’s experience with the justice system and contributes to the overall effectiveness of court operations, programs, and services. The quality and timeliness of case processing activities support administrative and judicial proceedings and may affect related legal processes, rulings, decisions, and case outcomes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Judicial Case Processor I Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Coursework, training, education, and/or work experience in document processing such as reviewing and evaluating records for completeness and conformity with laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures, resolving deficiencies, and tracking and monitoring activities.
- Coursework, training, education, and/or work experience in record keeping such as maintaining, filing, tracking, and retrieving physical, electronic, and digital documents, reports, or other information.
- Coursework, training, education, and/or work experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
- Coursework, training, education, and/or work experience in customer service such as providing prompt, accurate, and courteous service to customers seeking information, answering requests as quickly as possible, ensuring customers are satisfied with service, and responding to complaints.
- One year of experience in document processing such as reviewing and evaluating records for completeness and conformity with laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures, resolving deficiencies, and tracking and monitoring activities.
- One year of experience in record keeping such as maintaining, filing, tracking, and retrieving physical, electronic, and digital documents, reports, or other information.
- One year of experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
- One year of experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
