Janitor at Daystar Cafe LLC dba Daybreak Cafe in Selbyville, DE. Full time, permanent, year-round position.

Job Duties:

Maintain the restaurant in a clean and orderly condition. Clean restaurant floors by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing dining areas, kitchen floors, and back-of-house areas, following procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and equipment to prevent damage to floors. Clean furniture, windows, walls, fixtures, and equipment in dining and work areas. Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms in accordance with health and safety standards. Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and waste materials. Move furniture, supplies, equipment, and waste containers in connection with cleaning activities. Apply commercially available pre-mixed insecticides or pest-control products, as instructed and permitted, to help prevent insect or rodent infestation. Remove snow and ice from sidewalks and immediate exterior areas adjacent to the restaurant entrance using manual equipment and apply de-icing materials as needed for safety. Perform minor, non-technical maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and tightening loose fixtures, and report larger repair needs to management. Check electrical appliance use to ensure that safety hazards are not created. Lock doors to secure the restaurant after operating hours.

Requirements:   HS diploma/GED or foreign equivalent. 2 years of experience as a janitor or cleaner.
