Salon Assistant. 8 temporary, full-time positions. 10/01/2026 to 06/01/2027. JO's Haircare Dominican Salon LLC located at 240 S DuPont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720 and 413 S Ridge Ave, Middletown, DE 19709. Duties: Assisting the hairstylist by washing the client's hair, detangling the hair if necessary, and putting the hair in sections. The following tools, materials, and equipment may be used to perform these duties: comb and/or brush, shampoo, condition, hair dryer, and steamers. These duties prepare the client for the stylist so that the stylist can start the process of styling the client's hair in order to change or maintain the client's image. Maintaining the cleanliness and professional appearance of the salon, including sweeping hair from floors, cleaning workstations, sanitizing tools and equipment, organizing supplies, and keeping service areas neat and presentable for clients and staff. 35 hours per week. 7-hour workday Tue-Sat. 8am-4pm. OT hours required. No minimum education required. No experience required. Travel will be required. Daily transportation provided by the employer to both worksites located in New Castle. Wage: $15.00/hr (including tips, with the possibility of more based on tips); OT Wage: $22.50/hr. Workers paid biweekly. Housing Assistance: Employer assists workers in finding housing, but workers pay for their housing directly. Other benefits provided: Sick leave. On the job training provided. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation, at the company’s sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill and tenure. Single workweek will be used to compute wages due. All deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law will be made. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for workers’ reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $16.78/day during travel to a maximum of $68/day with receipts/documentation of actual expenses. H2B Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job, and guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12 week period of total employment period.
