Duties, Responsibilities & Other

 

KCI Technologies is seeking an experienced Site/Civil Engineer or Landscape Architect to join our Land Development team in the Mid-Altanic region. This role is ideal for a licensed professional who enjoys managing projects and teams, navigating the regulatory process, and contributing to the continued growth of a collaborative and well-established practice.
What You'll Do
As a key member of our Land Development team, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery of diverse site development projects, while mentoring staff and partnering with leadership to expand our footprint in the region.
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, landscape architects, and designers delivering high-quality civil/site designs
Oversee the full project lifecycle-from initial site visits and concept development through zoning and planning coordination, permitting, and construction documents
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients across commercial, mixed-use, retail, industrial, energy, and other land development projects
Collaborate closely with the Practice Leader to grow the business by strengthening existing client relationships and developing new opportunities
Prepare and oversee fee proposals, manage scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to support professional growth and project success across the team
Conduct site visits, gather existing conditions data, and perform construction inspections as needed
Partner with project assistants on project setup, invoicing, and closeout to ensure seamless project administration
Prepare technical reports, regulatory submittals, and client deliverables with a high level of quality and professionalism
What We're Looking For
Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) license (required)
Proven experience in land development engineering design, permitting, and regulatory processes
Demonstrated success managing projects, teams, and client relationships
Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
Experience preparing fee proposals and managing project financials
A passion for mentoring and developing future engineering and design professionals

Qualifications

 

Education and/or Skills Required:
* Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 4 years of related professional experience, or 8 years of equivalent
professional experience.
