Our Operations Group in Newport is looking for a Chemical Operator to support and guide production and testing equipment. This Operator will collaborate within our Manufacturing Group on a 12-hour shift. The Operator will report directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor. Responsibilities
Guide and maintain automatic and manual chemical process systems of varying complexity in accordance w/ operating procedures, including programmable, logic control devices
Follow specifications, job orders, work instructions, recipes and procedures to produce specific products according to our ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality system
Perform excellent liquid / chemical batch manufacturing, maintaining a familiarity with a variety of production machines
Comfortable working in or open to learning about C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, particularly within the context of hazardous material handling and solvent extraction
Monitor and care for process variables, such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates
Route product samples for quality control inspection according to procedure
Complete preventive maintenance on a regular, timely basis.
Handle first-line resolving of process pathways such as equipment malfunctions, computer program issues, setting adjustments; involving appropriate other experts as needed.
Support and uphold the Company's safety and environmental standards:
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Champion proper disposal of waste materials
Contribute actively to safety improvement programs
Support and uphold all Company policies including safety, operating procedures, quality, attendance and proper on the job conduct
This position is shift work on a 12 hour Dupont Schedule, day-night rotation___________________Are you a MATCH?
Required
High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of Industrial Manufacturing experience
Proven experience with C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, particularly within the context of hazardous material handling and solvent extraction
Good written skills, proficient computer skills, and ability to work with MS Office tools are required
