Assistant Athletic Trainer
Wilmington University
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in a related field of study is required. Incumbent must be a Certified Athletic Trainer. Must have excellent communication, customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently, as well as work successfully in a team environment. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all situations is a must. Must demonstrate respect for others in the workplace and a commitment to creating a supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Treatment and management of athletic injuries before, during, and after activities.
Evaluation of athletic injuries.
Provide basic medical education for student-athletes.
Setting up equipment for practices and games.
Prevention of injuries and illnesses.
Promote and foster a supportive environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
Perform other duties which may be required by the Head Athletics Trainer and/or the Director of Athletics.
Hours of Employment: Generally, Saturday or Sunday. The incumbent must be flexible enough with their hours and work schedule to perform this job successfully, as well as meet the needs of the department and the University.
