Job Description
InteRebar Fabricators is seeking a Truck Driver responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of finished rebar products to customers and the pickup of raw materials from suppliers or port terminals. This critical role ensures on-time deliveries, supports production schedules, and helps maintain positive customer and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Transportation & Delivery
- Drive flatbed trucks or other assigned vehicles to deliver finished rebar products to construction sites, warehouses, or customer locations.
- Pick up raw steel and reinforcing materials from port terminals, mills, or other suppliers, ensuring proper documentation and load verification.
- Follow daily routes in accordance with delivery schedules, DOT regulations, and dispatch instructions.
- Loading & Unloading
- Verify that product quantities, sizes, and labels match delivery or pickup documentation.
- Ensure loads are properly tied down and compliant with safety regulations for transport.
- Documentation & Communication
- Accurately complete and maintain delivery receipts, bills of lading, manifests, and daily logbooks.
- Communicate with Logistics Manager and customers regarding delivery times, delays, or special requirements.
- Report any discrepancies with shipments, damages, or vehicle issues promptly.
- Vehicle Maintenance & Inspection
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, document findings, and report any mechanical problems.
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of assigned vehicle.
- Ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory requirements, including DOT and company policies.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations, including hours of service and proper use of ELD (electronic logging devices) where applicable.
- Wear and use all required PPE during loading/unloading and while on customer or port premises.
- Adhere to facility safety protocols and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor during all interactions.
