Effective immediately: Full-time, Administrative Assistant, School of Law - Wilmington University.
Summary: We are seeking a skilled and service-focused Administrative Assistant to support the operations of the School of Law. In this role, the Administrative Assistant will deliver comprehensive administrative support to both faculty and school leadership. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with excellent communication and customer service skills.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Must have excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently as well as work successfully in a team environment. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Must demonstrate respect for diversity in the workplace and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all situations is a must.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Support law faculty members by providing formatting and proofreading of draft syllabi, exams, reference/recommendation letters for students, and other similar items.
- Maintain faculty member calendars, schedules student appointments and committee meetings, and room reservations.
- Communicate logistical set-up and event requests to university offices and catering organizations regarding designated law school events.
- Provide front desk service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors of the Law School as needed.
- Welcomes and directs visitors, answers incoming calls, responds to inquiries appropriately, and takes accurate messages as needed.
- Promotes and fosters an inclusive and diverse environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
- Perform other duties which may be assigned by the Professor & Dean of the School of Law, Assistant to the Dean, and the Associate Dean for Academics.
Hours of Employment: Work hours generally fall between Monday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with flexibility required during academic terms to accommodate evening programming and exam proctoring. Flexibility is required to accommodate the needs of the department and/or the University, and some travel may be necessary. The schedule will include both daytime and evening hours as needed. During academic terms, student services operate until 6:00 p.m., and final exam administration may extend as late as 9:15 p.m.
