Location: Wilmington, DE
Pay Rate: Up to $82 an hour (Depending on experience)
Duration: 6 Months
Job Description:
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our CI/CD pipelines using GitLab. You will work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure the smooth deployment and operation of our applications. Your role will involve optimizing our infrastructure, automating processes, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate code changes and manage deployment processes.
Maintain and optimize infrastructure, including SQL Server databases, and support .NET and Angular applications.
Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure application performance and availability.
Automate routine tasks and workflows to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to deployment, infrastructure, and application performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in processes and tools.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and GitLab administration.
Strong knowledge of SQL Server, including database management and performance tuning.
Experience with .NET and Angular development environments.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools.
Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus.
Solid understanding of version control, build, and release management.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
In-depth experience with GitLab's advanced features such as custom runners, GitLab CI/CD optimizations, and complex pipeline configurations.
Extensive experience with .NET frameworks and Angular, including debugging, performance optimization, and integration with CI/CD processes.
Experience working within Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
