- Attends work regularly according to assigned work schedule and in accordance with agency policy.
- Follows instructions.
- Complies with the Delaware Stated Board of Nursing Practice Act
- Within any Chimes Delaware contracted program, assumes responsibility for screening program participants, and determining appropriate treatment.
- Works cooperatively with others including all staff, supervisors, administrators, co-workers, individuals served, community professionals, customers, vendors, and the public.
- Provides MARs monthly for all participants receiving medication while at the program.
- Ensures all staff sign the back of every MAR.
- Maintains binders of health information for each participant in each section of the program.
- Acquires all needed documents from agencies and or families in order to ensure compliance with DDDS regulations including but not limited to: Annual Physical exams, Over the Counter medication orders and physician orders for medications being administered while at program.
- Assists all persons with diabetes with blood glucose checks and administers or oversees self-administration of insulin to same.
- Maintains monthly MARs for all persons receiving insulin, tube feedings, and medications via feeding tubes.
- Completes medication cart checks weekly assuring compliance with all aspects of medication delivery and documentation.
- Provides written feedback to supervisors of all findings.
- Reports all medication errors to supervisor or designee.
- Checks all physician orders against MAR entry.
- Provides ongoing staff training as it relates to nursing services and medical issues.
- Ensures all staff and supervisors are aware of any dietary restrictions, altered diets, and need for thickened liquids.
- Educates his or herself on the medical conditions of all program participants.
- Maintains required certifications that are necessary for compliance with training requirements.
- Administers the provision of medical and nursing services which are outside the scope of unlicensed staff or deemed inappropriate to be delegated to unlicensed personnel.
- Serves as a liaison between Chimes and other agencies and families.
- Provides emergency on-site treatment and triage for program participants.
- Provides communication to families and agencies regarding all health concerns.
- Maintains confidentiality, in accordance with HIPPA, of all individuals served and promotes each individuals' rights at all times.
- Contributes to a work atmosphere in a manner that is positive, enthusiastic, respectful, professional, and courteous.
- Is a positive role model for individuals served and agency staff.
- Uses technology for the completion of specified job duties.
- Reviews and monitors medications in order to ensure that an adequate supply of all prescribed medications administered at the Day Program are available.
