Job DetailsWe are seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for our Center for Advanced Joint Replacement to support the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction for the clinical practice of nursing and the delivery of high quality & cost-effective care for all patients and families associated with this patient care unit. Shares 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all aspect of daily operations with the Nurse Manager. The Center for Advanced Joint Replacement is a 30-bed inpatient unit, located at our Wilmington Hospital in Delaware, specializing in the care of knee and hip replacement patients. This is a surgical inpatient unit for elective surgery, with a primary focus on joint replacement and bariatric surgery. This unit also receives ENT & plastic surgery patients.

Responsibilities:
In this role you will assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction for the clinical practice of nursing and delivery of high quality and efficient care to all patients utilizing the services of this area.
Acts as a liaison with other hospital departments to enhance program development and improve clinical excellence.
Participates in all hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and termination decisions.
Functions as a highly transparent role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors which support professional development of staff and the strategic goals of ChristianaCare.
Identifies new program and service opportunities to enhance program development and improve clinical excellence.
Directs, mentors and supports all level of staff. Enables a Relationship-Based care approach to care delivery on the unit.
Identifies potential future leaders and engages in succession planning.
Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements appropriate changes and system wide improvement.
Develops, implements and monitors performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing required. Master's required within 5 years.
RN required. Surgical Inpatient experience required.
5 years appropriate clinical and leadership experience in area or specialty.
Current certification in related specialty required.
Hours: This position is Full Time. The shifts are your choice of 8 or 10 hours shifts and may include Day, Evening and Overnight hours, depending on the needs of the department.
