ChristianaCare Health System is seeking a Nurse Manager for Obstetrics & Gynecological Triagelocated at our Women's & Children's building on our Newark Campus. This newly created position is integral to our commitment of providing outstanding care within the Labor & Delivery (OB) Triage area.
24-hour accountability and responsibility for excellence both clinically and operationally is a must. There are approximately 23 FTE's designated to the space, and we serve approximately 1,500 patients per month. The successful candidate will have an understanding of triage algorithms to assess acuity and assign priority of care in gynecological to obstetric patients and ensure a smooth and efficient OB triage process.

Job Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations of the obstetrical emergency department, including nursing staffing, scheduling, and patient flow.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements related to obstetrical care and emergency services. Acquires and maintains knowledge in EMTALA processes in collaboration with the main Emergency Department.
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes and quality of care.
Serve as a liaison between the obstetrical emergency department and other hospital departments to facilitate seamless patient care transitions.
Develop and implement educational programs and initiatives for staff to enhance clinical skills and knowledge in obstetrical emergency care.

Requirements:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of DE required
Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required ; Master's degree required within 3 years of hire.
National Board Certification in Obstetrics (RNC-OB), required within 6 months of hire.
Minimum of 5 years of clinical and leadership experience in obstetrical nursing required.
Basic Life Support Required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) Required.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
