Job Description
The IT Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the software development team and participating in programming as needed. The IT Development Manager will work closely with business line leaders to gather requirements, analyze technical feasibility, and propose design solutions that meet business objectives. In this role, the IT Development Manager will hire new development staff as applicable, oversee each aspect of the development process, and act as the liaison between programmers and the business line managers.
Essential Functions:
- Provide disciplined approach to project management guidelines.
- Set expectations and standards for the timely delivery of quality work products.
- Establish development standards for the team and generate reports on teams’ performance metrics and KPIs.
- Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements, analyzing technical feasibility proposing design solutions that meet business objectives.
- Deliver reports and proposals to executive management.
- Create a budget and timeline for the development project.
- Enforce change management standards, reports, and tracking where relevant.
- Optimize processes to enhance team productivity and service quality.
- Collaborate with other departments to align IT support with organizational goals and needs.
- Plan and conduct quarterly performance appraisals of Programmers.
- Ensure appropriate training initiatives for new and existing team members.
