Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician (FMT) will perform preventative maintenance tasks, work within the credit unions Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to promote a clean and safe working environment for Dover Federal Credit Union’s eight (8) branches and the corporate office. Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the FMT addresses common maintenance issues across all facilities, performing repairs, maintaining equipment and documenting same. The FMT must be able to address a host of common property issues, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry.  

Essential Functions

  • Perform a variety of maintenance tasks for all sites, including, but not limited to, HVAC, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical trades work. Ensures that sites are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  • Perform repairs, installations and upkeep of all branches and various departments within the corporate office.
  • Preparing all branch sites for changing weather conditions and season change.
  • Collaborating with Facilities Manager on budgeting for future facilities needs
  • Maintain company safety standards.
  • Maintain the servicing of company vehicles.
  • Assembles, repairs, maintains, and moves furniture, such as desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and related fittings and fixtures.
  • Conducts routine inspections and maintenance of heating, electrical, and air conditioning equipment; adjusting and replacing tiles and/or air filters as needed.
  • Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager.
  • Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment.
  • Maintains the CMMS for assigned maintenance tasks and responds to emergency situations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Handle and operate all equipment including a variety of hand and power tools in a safe manner to prevent accidents and demonstrate good working knowledge of those tools and their safe use.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedule / instruction and complete reports, as requested.
  • Perform routine inspections of building systems, identifying, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions, diagnose problems, and propose effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
