Chemours is seeking a Process Development Manager to join our growing Technology team! This position will report directly at our Newark, DE location.
In Thermal & Specialty Solutions, we harness next-generation, low-Global Warming Potential (GWP) technology to provide market driven innovations to customers in the areas of Refrigerants, Propellants, Fire Protection, Foam Blowing Agents used in various systems for building and construction segments, and Mobile and Stationary heating and cooling systems. Our technical organization consists of experts in the areas of fluorine chemistry, catalysis, process development, analytical and formulation science, and application development to name a few. This highly visible role will lead a technical team composed of Associate and Principal Investigators, Synthetic Chemist, and Process Engineers that lead the innovation process of thermal management solutions that will solve some of the most significant challenges in society.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Lead the process technology organization with a strong focus on development of new manufacturing processes to commercialize new products
+ Support manufacturing sites in all regions to resolve complex process problems or to achieve capacity release goals
+ Identify, evaluate, and implement new process technologies to advance green manufacturing
+ Develop and retain top talent and competencies of the organization
+ Provide EHS guidance to laboratory operation and pilot units located at Chemours Discovery Hub and Experimental Station respectively
+ Manage monthly budget and R&D Capex spending
+ Work closely with Product growth team to align on programs and timelines on the growth projects
+ Support Manufacturing Technology organization to achieve the business goals on Sustainability, Agile process optimization, and Capacity release
+ Work closely with procurement to evaluate options for contract partners to support technology development and transfer technology
+ Oversee external collaboration with universities, National Labs, suppliers, among others to accelerate innovation in process development
+ Develop strong team culture to build effective team in supporting technology objectives
+ Manage ambiguity with confidence and being the leader for the change
+ Deliver strong results by influencing the team, allocation of resources meets critical milestones
+ Decision making which supports the overall technical goals with close alignment with technology director and input from technology organization
The following is required for this role:
+ Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Science or Engineering plus 5-10 years of experience in technical roles, or Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering plus 5-15 years of experience in technical roles
+ Proven leadership and people management experience within a technical role
+ Demonstrated experience in process safety management (PSM) and with chemical handling
+ Ability to travel occasionally
+ Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
The following is preferred for this role :
+ An advanced technical degree in science/engineering (PhD or equivalent years of field experience)
+ Experience with high-hazard operations
+ Demonstrated experience with fluorochemical handling preferred
+ Experience with the Intellectual Property process for patent filling
+ Demonstrated experience in working directly in a lab or manufacturing setting

$134,400.00 – $210,000.00
