Zurich North America is hiring an Product Development Consultant I to join our team! We are open to hiring talent in one of the following locations: Kansas. We are open to remote work for the right candidate located any where within the U.S..
Provides forms development & filing expertise and transactional support to the Life, Accident & Health Business Unit and Underwriters. Acts independently and under limited direction, acting as a Subject Matter Expert in a line of business or product line. Enables achievement of business plan and the delivery of excellent customer service while managing and mitigating legal and regulatory risks.
In this role you will be responsible for:
+ Support the development and implementation of product solutions (e.g. product development) for a portfolio, line of business, or product line
+ Stay abreast of the latest product line and industry trends
+ Maintain and promote existing strategic partnerships internally
+ Advise the Business Unit and Underwriters in responding to coverage requests and draft language for specific transactions
+ Assist with approval of terms and conditions (e.g. policy wording) by working closely with the Business Unit and Underwriters
+ Promote a consistent approach to coverage through adherence to an established coverage philosophy
+ Contribute to the development of technical underwriting coverage guidelines and Best Practices, including controls and procedures.
+ Support strategic initiatives that impact the product line
+ Research and analyze relevant legal issues in connection with contract drafting
+ Develop training materials on the intent of critical policy provisions and new products
+ Structure new endorsements consistently and maintain the endorsement library with relevant updates and modifications
+ Provide cross-border support for simple International Programs (e.g. single line of Excess coverage)
+ Support underwriting strategy and product development by analyzing competitor forms and approaches to coverage
+ Participate in compliance-related queries, including state regulatory exams and insurance department inquiries
+ Support product refreshes (e.g. updating pre-existing coverages and endorsements) by preparing coverage forms and endorsements for Governance Review
+ Works on projects of low to moderate complexity
Basic Qualifications:
+ JD and 6 or more years of experience of law practice specializing in the insurance area
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Industry experience in the relevant line(s) of business
+ Strong organizational and analytical skills
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The starting salary range for this position is $83,700.00 – $137,100.00.
