We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Accounts Receivable Specialist in Wilmington, DE, United States. This role is crucial to maintaining the financial health of our orthopedic practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and managing medical billing claims and accounts receivable to ensure revenue maximization and minimize denials.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical claims for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies.
- Follow up on outstanding claims and denials in a timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and unpaid claims.
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients.
- Process patient payments and reconcile accounts receivable.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and internal staff regarding billing and payment inquiries.
- Stay current with insurance regulations and billing guidelines.
- Use skills in Medical Billing, Accounts Receivable (AR), Insurance Claims, and Claim Denials to perform job duties efficiently.P
Requirements – Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Billing Specialist or in a similar role- Proficiency in Medical Billing is required
- Strong knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential
- Experience with Insurance Claims is needed
- Familiarity with handling Claim Denials is a must
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential
- Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in using medical software and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred
- Must have a high level of integrity and reliability
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
