Job Description
UMB’s Healthcare Services team delivers healthcare payment solutions including custodial services for health savings accounts (HSAs) and private label, multipurpose debit cards to insurance carriers, third-party administrators, software companies, employers and financial institutions. UMB Healthcare Services is one of the top custodians in the country and is a growing team within UMB, with a focus on an expanding product set along with customized solutions tailored to our partners. This team is critical to UMB’s growth strategy and allows our customers to have a single relationship for their banking and HSA needs.
As a Senior Healthcare Services Business Development Officer, you will be responsible for lead generation, prospect identification and qualification. You will have to understand the prospect’s needs and have the knowledge to map those needs back to the UMB products and services that can add value to the prospect’s business. You will also be responsible for managing prospects through the sales and contract cycles and transitioning prospects to the Implementation and Client Experience teams, as appropriate.

How you’ll spend your time:
+ You will use your sales acumen to establish a prospect call plan to identify and generate qualified leads in an established geographic territory within the appropriate distribution channels which could include Health Plans, Third Party Administrators (Benefits and Medical), Software/Technology companies, Exchanges, Enrollment Companies, 401k Providers, Employers, Brokers, etc.).
+ You will solicit, coordinate internally and respond to Request for Proposals (RFP) to obtain new HSA, multipurpose debit card, virtual payment and other healthcare payment related business.
+ You will prepare and present customized proposals to Healthcare Services prospects and clients.
+ You will provide an appropriate level of support to internal teams such as Implementation and Client Experience, as prospects transition to clients such that all necessary parties receive a complete knowledge transfer.
We’re excited to talk with you if:
+ You possess six (6) years’ experience in the healthcare payments industry while demonstrating a solid understanding of healthcare tax advantaged programs and card / transaction processing.
+ You possess at least eight (8) years prior sales experience.
+ You can demonstrate an ability to identify and pursue business leads with revenue generation and profitability front of mind.
You will participate in industry conferences and events, and other activities, as required. The expectation would be 20-40% travel.
Compensation Range:
Minimum: $69,230.00 – Maximum: $179,300.00
