We are hiring an experienced Medical Office Administrator to join their growing and passionate team. Pay: $15-$16.75 per hour
1st Shift Hours: 8 am - 5 pm, Monday-Friday
The Medical Office Administrator will perform secretarial/reception duties in support of general medical office activities to relieve medical professional personnel of clerical and administrative details and to maintain an efficient and effective operation. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Set up patient files and records and complete documentation as needed.
Operates general office machines including computers, copy machines, calculators, and fax equipment.
Answers phones, and screen calls, responds to routine questions, and takes messages by physician's instructions.
Serves as receptionist for the health center; greets patients in a professional, friendly manner, makes appointments or proper referrals according to instructions and procedures; prepares documents and materials for referrals, labs, or x-ray facilities as requested.
Communicates with patients to schedule appointments and is a conduit for physicians and nurses with patients.
Makes appropriate entries into the patient's electronic medical records.
Determines appropriate sliding fee scale classifications for patients and collects appropriate payments and co-payments from patients. Determines insurance copays and collects appropriate funds.
Opens and closes the waiting room area (locking doors, closing blinds, turning off lights).

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
1+ years of related medical clerical experience. A completed medical secretarial program (nine months up to two years accredited program) may be substituted for equivalent experience.
Computer proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Knowledge of medical center/office general practices with an understanding of the standard use and care of office equipment and supplies.
Knowledge of EMR system, medical record documentation requirements, and state/federal laws related to the release of health care information.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds when needed.
