The Role

As a Lumen SR Channel Manager -Mass Markets, you will be responsible for achieving assigned sales goals within Mass Market’s External Partner Sales Organization. Sr Channel Sales Managers work within assigned partner accounts to market and sell CenturyLink and Quantum Fiber branded products to Consumer and Small Business customers, with a focus on indirect retail and service-to-the-door.

The Main Responsibilities

- Actively work to build and maintain strong relationships with partners and the sub-dealers and or affiliates that can positively impact Lumen’s ability to grow its business

- Ensure assigned partner contracts and amendments are executed and implemented properly, including the placement of Lumen marketing materials and acquisition programs. Encourage Partners to actively participate in on property events and programs to build and maintain market share of voice, data and video services

- Build a comprehensive sales strategy, working with National and Regional teams to grow Lumen’s market share and actively maintain sales funnel using a variety of tools, including

- Foster end to end customer experiences to differentiate Lumen in the market. Including rapid response times for communications to and from your partners and active troubleshooting on customer opportunities and challenges to meet customer needs

- Be responsible for meeting and or exceeding a monthly and quarterly sales quota by developing and driving sales strategies and accountability plans with your Partners. In some cases developing new and additional Partner relationships and sales opportunities.

- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

- Work closely with regional and field related workgroups to coordinate planning of sales and completions between Partners and internal support groups.

- Identify and target new construction for single family and MDU developments and coordinate cross functionally to provide a competitive Lumen solution. Internal cross functional coordination is key to ensure customer needs are met and internal capabilities align.

What We Look For in a Candidate

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience.

- 6+ years related experience

- Account management experience.

- Able to demonstrate prior experience developing quality leads, including cold calling, active participation in trade associations, etc.

- Proven track record of successful professional sales experience.

- Strong analytical skills.

- Working knowledge and experience with contracts and contract negotiations.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and remain motivated.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills to include product demonstrations, and executive selling skills.

- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (MVR)

- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft office suite of services (email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc…)

- Able to travel locally extensively, 60%+ of the time


The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$60720 – $80950 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$63910 – $85210 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$67110 – $89480 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$70310 – $93740 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
