The Business Engineering Leader/Capital Execution Leader (BEL/CEL) reports to the Business Engineering Manager (BEM) and is accountable for all aspects of capital project execution across the full range of capital projects for their assigned lines of business and/or regions. The BEL/CEL is the Subject Matter Expert in execution of capital projects for the business.
The BEL/CEL must
+ Engage key stakeholders at project initiation to ensure clear business objectives are defined and the project scope is optimized.
+ Interface with the Site Engineering Leaders and directly with the Project Team Leaders (PTL) at the manufacturing sites to ensure that the full range of capital engineering capabilities are in place to effectively execute projects in a safe and cost-effective manner.
Success is measured by portfolio safety performance, predictable project cost and spending, schedule compliance, quality of facilities and processes and contribution to business improvement.
Please note the travel expectation for this role is 75%+ domestic/global (flow to the work)
Your Key Responsibilities :
+ Develops annual and 5-year capital plan with business, manufacturing sites, Technical, and R&D functions. Monitors spend progress and forecast accuracy to ensure optimized spend for the business.
+ Accountable for end-to-end project execution; includes from Project definition to Turnover to Operations
+ Ensures engineering systems and processes are deployed in a manner consistent with the business need, while at the same time aligned with corporate engineering expertise/experience.
+ Provides guidance to sites and maintains connection to the Engineering Center of Competency (CoC) and full-service design contractor partners for site-based project teams. Ensures appropriate resources are available and appropriate training is provided to execute capital projects that meet business & site needs.
+ Monitors/audits site capital project performance to insure quality in all aspects of project execution, including capability of site capital leadership, direct and contracted project engineering, contracted design support, engineered equipment specification and fabrication, contracted construction oversight and safety and quality of installation by construction contractors.
+ Works with the Site Engineering Leaders to insure Site Project Management resource capability (Owner and Contractor) is consistent with the business and site direction, aligns with the expectations of the business capital engineering leadership team, and delivers a competitive advantage.
+ Assists the Site Engineering Leaders in finding development opportunities for project engineering resources or those interested in project engineering at the sites.
+ Engages with Business Engineering Leader and Site Engineering Leader to develop project execution strategy including identifying PTL, confirming or selecting design and construction contractor services.
+ Works closely with BEM and BEL to develop appropriate execution strategy for projects over $10MM.
+ Ensures engineering deliverables at each Engineering Readiness Assessment and Gate Review are at the appropriate level of completeness/quality and consistent with delivering successful projects to the businesses.
+ Works with BIE to monitor cost and schedule performance of major capital monthly.
+ Provides coaching and mentoring to all PTL’s and Site Engineering Leaders. This may require dealing with day-to-day execution issues on difficult projects or supporting less experienced PTL’s.
+ Actively networks with counterparts in other DuPont businesses and participates with the corporate engineering CoC on training sessions and improvement teams to gain perspective and identify best practices that help drive capital execution excel within the business.
+ Ensures strict adherence to the DuPont Corporate/ Business Intellectual Property (IP)/ Trade Secrets (TS) content policy (including Business, Manufacturing, Technology, R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Operations).
Your Qualification Profile:
+ B.S. in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) or a related field
+ 20 + years of experience working in a similar global project leader role
+ Demonstrated track record of achieving business and project results on capital projects.
+ Demonstrated Technical/Functional Expertise which requires extensive experience through assignments in areas such as: Project Leadership; Project Controls, Engineering Design, Procurement, Construction, Contract Administration, Business, and Manufacturing.
+ Demonstrated capital execution success globally.
+ Experience Leading Projects of various sizes at a Site with preferred experience in a Site Engineering Leader Role
+ Demonstrates ability to effectively direct and influence leadership across multiple sites and regions
+ Must exhibit strong leadership skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Demonstrates a value for diversity.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead major change with a bias for decision making.
