Description:
The primary focus of this position is to transport food and supplies from the main kitchen to the senior centers on an established route.
Responsibilities:
- Transport meals by picking them up at the main kitchen and following an established route.
- Responsible for observing and following all applicable laws including posted speed limits, safe following distances and defensive driving techniques as well as Agency policies.
- Responsible for reporting ANY incidents or accidents immediately.
- Responsible for inspecting and cleaning the inside and the outside of the vehicle daily. Complete any repairs and perform regular maintenance.
- Responsible for maintaining a daily log including mileage and maintenance. Complete all other reports as required by the Program Director on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Attend all training and safety meetings as required.
- Responsible for delivering homebound meals when required following an established route.
- Responsible for informing Outreach Worker, Center Director or main office when homebound client is not home to accept a meal.
- Responsible for returning unused meals to the main office.
- Responsible for obtaining client signatures as a receipt of delivery of a meal. Meals are not to be left if the client is not home to accept it.
- Responsible for picking up and delivering interoffice mailboxes to and from the main office to the Agency sites on the driver’s route.
- Responsible for assisting with unloading and storing of all U.S.D.A. foods and other deliveries as needed.
- All other related duties as assigned or required.
This is a Temporary/Part-Time and Non Exempt position. Typical hours are Monday-Friday 7:30AM-12:30PM.Extended work hours are periodically required to support programs and activities. Must be able to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
