Job Description:
Seeking highly qualified professional to lead and expand CDM Smith’s environmental remediation portfolio with federal clients, primarily Department of Defense and to include U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As a full-service firm, CDM Smith has been providing services to the federal government in the environmental remediation market for over 35 years. We are looking for someone who will help continue this tradition through the development of strategies to grow business with new and existing clients.

As a Client Service Leader, you will lead the business development efforts for our federal group specifically focusing on consulting, planning, engineering, design, and construction services of remediation projects for Department of Defense clients. The Client Service Leader will play a key role in the implementation of business development strategies to achieve aggressive and sustainable growth targets. The Client Service Leader will facilitate this growth by establishing a multi-year strategic plan, setting short- and long-term business priorities, leading client engagements, identifying teaming partners, and growing the business in this sector. As a member of this high-performing team, you would contribute to CDM Smith’s mission by:
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities for professional and construction services for Department of Defense clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement innovative digital solutions to meet the needs of our clients.
- Managing client relationships with large, multi-site, and/or complex clients and leading strategic business development efforts.
- Serving as capture manager for proposal and task order proposal efforts to include managing and communicating amongst a diverse team of experts.
- Developing strategic short- and long-term business plans.
- Keeping abreast of agency initiatives, funding issues, and organizational changes.
- Maintaining awareness of the Federal environmental marketplace related to business opportunities, including competitors, partners, and subcontractors/subconsultants.
- Establishing an established business network (potential clients and teaming partners).
- Engaging with CDM Smith Program and Project Managers to support the delivery of quality projects that meet scope, schedule, and budget commitments to maintain client satisfaction.
- Contributing to the firm’s stature by actively participating in leadership roles in professional societies and associations.
- Serving as mentor to junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 15 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current experience working with the Department of Defense on environmental issues.
- Demonstrated success in business development and long-term relationship management for federal-sector clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to engineering, science, construction, or business.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, disciplined and results oriented.
- Ability to travel as needed for client/project requirements.
