JOB DESCRIPTION
As a part of the Claims Finance team, the financial analyst will work closely with various finance units, including underwriting, reinsurance, investments, and actuarial departments, on a wide variety of projects and processes. In this role, you will interact with a diverse group of internal personnel, including other financial analysts, divisional leadership, and functional staff to interpret financial data and operational performance. Primary responsibility is to analyze financial status by collecting, monitoring, and studying data, recommending actions.
This position is responsible for facilitating the budgeting, planning, and forecasting process for the North America Claim organization while providing operational and strategic support of organizational improvement through resource management. The responsibilities require significant interaction with other departments including Human Resources and Finance.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in the Chubb North America Claims Annual Operating Plan Process.
- Assist in the preparation and consolidation of budget templates, analyze historical data, and incorporate organizational changes and business drivers.
- Assist with in tracking, monitoring personnel expenses against the approved budgets. Analyze the reasons for any significant variances.
- Analyze personnel - related data such as headcount, turnover, and other HR metrics. Use this data to identify trends, patterns and cost drivers that impact the personnel budget.
- Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for claims operations.
- Evaluate Pre-Requisition requests, review and analyze the information provided for potential requisitions or acquisitions and ensure they meet the company's criteria and strategic objectives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline data collections and reporting processes, as well as recommending automation solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required. This may include evaluating the financial impact of new claims initiatives, conducting scenario analysis, or participating in cross-functional teams to drive business improvements.
