Job Description
Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary opportunity with a fast-growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded and the role is based in the Leipsic, Delaware region.
Your responsibilities
- Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
- Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
- Maintain monthly payment schedules
- Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
- Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
- Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
- Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
- Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed Requirements – Experience with ERP systems
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- Recent and relevant accounting experience
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases
- Be detailed, flexible, and organized
- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
- Account reconciliation experience desired
- Demonstrated knowledge of month end closings
- Deep understanding of Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- CPA experience preferred
- General ledger experience highly desired
- Financial auditing experience required
- Adeptness in journal entries
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
