The Trust Assistant will work on assigned tasks under the supervision of the Group Manager and/or Team Leaders to provide clerical and administrative support in the Personal Trust Administration area. The incumbent will assist Administration in performing all tasks necessary for proper administration of trust, investment management, custody of IRA accounts as well as account and file establishment, account and file maintenance, system maintenance and transaction input, cash and securities processing, account reviews, and complete compliance and legal projects as required. The incumbent will maintain trust files and accurately and professionally communicate with clients, advisors, etc. by telephone, email and correspondence as well as generate and distribute various reports as required or assigned.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supporting the Trust Relationship Officer and client interfacing personnel in providing high level service delivery to trust, agency, investment management clients, advisors, intermediaries/centers of influence, other qualified referral sources and distribution channels.
  • Position entails internal, and to the extent necessary, external (client) communications; Knowledge and understanding of fiduciary principles; Knowledge of securities processing and clearing; Knowledge of trust/accounting systems, technology to support recordkeeping, and payment history; Interface with Trust OPS Service Partners across the BMTCDE - BMTC franchise.
  • Support Trust Relationship Officers and other client focused staff members.
  • Support is essential to ensure the relationship officers are successful in the eyes of the clients.
  • Support trust officers and client relationships with multiple parties involved and time sensitive deadlines.
  • Lend support to client focused staff members in preparing for client meetings, visits, sales calls and presentations.
  • Interact with high net worth private client segments.
  • Other administrative duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of high level administrative assistant experience is required, preferably in banking or financial services industry. Trust industry experience is highly desired.
  • Must have the ability to master office tasks and tools i.e. Microsoft Office
  • Must have excellent problem solving skills and close attention to detail.
  • Must have strong inter-personal communications skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have comprehension, organization, reasoning and decision-making skills.
