The energy industry is undergoing rapid and dramatic changes, moving away from fossil fuels to alternative sources of clean energy. At the same time, the risks posed by climate change and aging infrastructure require an array of dynamic and innovative solutions to deliver resilient utility services.
The energy transition is still in its early stages, and presents significant technical, logistical, and market challenges. Decarbonization will require detailed planning, multi-disciplinary collaboration, financial resources, and motivated staff to support successful implementation. By joining our team, we’ll harness your expertise as an innovator and technologist to develop strategies to solve our client’s challenging energy needs. As an Energy Technologist, you’ll work closely with operations, sales, and technology functions providing leadership as we expand our energy transitions portfolio. You can be based anywhere in North America!
Your primary responsibilities will focus on microgrid assessments, distributed systems, and power systems including the impact of behind-the-meter distributed energy resource (DER) on the reliability of distribution system. In addition, you will be focused on development of modeling and simulation tools tailored to specific client needs, providing decision making and policy-based support to drive project deployment. This could include wholesale market participation tools in ISO/RTO regions, such as ERCOT, CAISO, MISO, NEISO, etc., transportation decarbonization simulations such as V2X, DER sizing and dispatch strategies optimizing return on investment.
Other responsibilities will include client-facing delivery in leadership roles to develop implementation strategies for large programs, responsible for overall work progress, technical performance and client and stakeholder satisfaction. You’ll be expected to possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills and finesse. Successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges, while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery. In addition, the successful candidate is encouraged to publish research and results in peer reviewed journals and/or white papers.

Here’s what you’ll need :
· Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Engineering or Physics
· At least 10 years of design experience working with relevant markets and emerging energy technologies
· Proven ability to develop simulation programs to guide decision making and sound financial guidance for electrification and low carbon energy strategies
· Strong communication and technical writing skills
