Job Description
ChristianaCare, with Hospitals in Wilmington and Newark, DE, as well as Elkton, MD, is one of the largest health care providers in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Primary Function:
To support occupational safety, injury prevention, industrial hygiene and environmental programs at ChristianaCare which provide for the safety of caregivers, patients, visitors and the environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform Incident Investigations and implement corrective actions.
Conduct Job Hazard Analysis to identify hazards and/or potential hazards and provide recommendations for mitigation.
Conduct Personal Protective Equipment Assessments.
Perform Workstation Ergonomic Assessments.
Conduct Indoor Air Quality Assessments.
Conduct Exposure Assessments, interpret sampling results, implement corrective actions as needed.
Conduct Noise Monitoring and oversee the Hearing Conservation Program.
Assist with Hazardous Waste Management.
Assist with Hazard Communication Program.
Support the Patient Decontamination program.
Support the Construction Safety program.
Review and revise safety policies and procedures as needed.
Develop, coordinate and conduct safety training programs and safety initiatives.
Perform safety and environmental audits as required.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNREC, DOT, Joint Commission and other applicable regulations and standards.
Ability to use and troubleshoot monitoring equipment.
Participate on emergency response teams (e.g., Hazardous Materials Response, Confined Space Rescue).
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or other related science.
Minimum three to five years of experience in Occupational Safety or related field.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint
Excellent oral and written communication skills, exhibiting high attention to detail.
Ability to manage time, work independently, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license required.
