Job Description
The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations, and contributes to the Group's transformation. It is responsible for imagining, developing and incubating new solutions until they are brought to market, particularly when it comes to offers with a high technological content (including digital and IT). IDD gathers more than 3,000 employees from 70 nationalities at 60 sites.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
This position is a highly visible position within Air Liquide Advanced Technologies US LLC (ALATUS), providing key project engineering support in the design, construction, and commissioning of Renewable Gas (RNG) Plants for our business growth. The candidate will be responsible for directing, overseeing and supporting project execution; including involvement in the engineering, bid process, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, reporting, and invoicing.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reviewing and approving purchase specifications for plant equipment
Review and approve piping and instrumentation, general arrangement, isometric and vender shop drawings
Create master equipment and piping lists as well as cable schedules
Plan and Coordinate HAZOP studies and follow up resulting HAZOP action items resolution
Supervise and review contractor performed balance of plant (BOP) engineering efforts
Preparation and implementation of project specific working instructions and pre-/commissioning procedures,
Planning, guiding and monitoring of pre-/commissioning activities with emphasis on safety, quality and schedule, including Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSR)
Ensuring that the day-to-day works are in compliance with the respective procedures, standards, specifications,
Conducting regular pre-/commissioning meetings with the team identifying problems/ deviations,
Reporting of any particular event and/or risk identified which substantially affects HSE, process, quality, personnel, client relations, deadlines, cost and claims for evaluation and initiation of necessary corrective measures.
Coordination with HSE and Risk Management experts to drive PSSR and Hazops for the facility under construction.
Coordinates plant control development and control narrative and execution with SoE, the I&C Program Manager and Operations.
Successfully completes all assigned trainings

Required
B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Related Field preferred
5+ years of experience in the chemical manufacturing or engineering design and construction industry.
Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics, PIDs, and construction drawings.
Familiar with MS Project
Knowledge of cost estimating techniques and understanding of estimate accuracy at various project stages.
Familiar with building codes, consensus engineering standards and applicable regulations (ASME, API, CGA, NFPA, OSHA).
Effective verbal and written communication, with good mediation skills. Must be collaborative and comfortable working in a team environment.
Attention to detail; precision and accuracy are important.
Advanced time management and analytical skills
Excellent client-facing communication skills
Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times.
Adept at communicating technical information to a non-technical audience.
Strong command of English, verbal and written.
Preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Strong sense of urgency, and responds to important communications rapidly, including during off-hours when urgent situations arise
Developing strong customer and supplier relationships
Adept at organizational networking and influencing
Ability to obtain results with globally, culturally and functionally diverse populations
WORKING CONDITIONS
Willingness and ability to respond to urgent issues outside normal business hours
Willingness to travel up to travel 20% of the time and up to 50% of the time during short-duration, busy periods
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; speak and hear; lifting objects up to 25 lbs.
