The Role

As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will utilize a deep understanding of Lumen target customer needs, competitive environment, business opportunities and Lumen global product line. Accountable for Lumen professional services solution strategy for revenue growth, bookings, and profitability.

The Main Responsibilities

+ Assisting the sales organization in the identification of potential opportunities for professional services at new prospects as well as existing customers

+ Proposing and closing solutions to new business opportunities

+ Creating and refining solutions that include professional services

+ Creating proposals and RFP responses, Statements of Work, pricing, customer negotiations and transitioning to the delivery teams

+ Developing Staffing Level of Efforts (LOE) and Resource Requirements utilizing estimation tools and/or facilitating workshops with delivery owners

+ Interface with various Lumen teams including, Marketing, Procurement, Service Delivery, Legal,Contracts, Billing, Product Management, Engineering etc. as required

+ Negotiate appropriate SLASLO terms, Financial terms and other operationally material aspects of a SOW

+ Inspecting system pipeline and providing weekly updates to the internal systems of record

+ Updating the professional services administration modules and team document repositories with appropriate artifacts

What We Look For in a Candidate

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and relevant experience required; 15+ years of related experience

+ Master’s degree preferred; 3-5+ years of related experience in consulting business development, technical management and/or operational experience

+ Excellent communication skills written, verbal, and presentation skills

+ Excellent planning, decision making and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to multitask by working in a face paced, constantly changing environment

+ Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with individuals at all levels

+ Detail oriented in solution development and SOW creation following SMART framework

+ Ability to efficiently utilize MS Office Suite of Applications specially Word, Excel and PowerPoint

+ Demonstrated level of success in the pre-sales support to consulting and professional servicesopportunities

+ Proven track record of achieving professional goals successfully

+ Industry knowledge of migrations, SLAs, contract terms, service management and reviews, cloud, (SaaS, PaaS, and laaS) platforms (AWS, Azure etc.) managed hosting, colocation, datacenter operations, ITILITSM and IT Services such as ITO, Design & Transition Migration, BCDR, Strategic Consulting, ADM, QA, Remote Infrastructure Management etc.

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$129080 – $190,000 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
