Context of job:The University of Delaware’s Stigma and Health Inequities Lab in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences seeks a Limited Time Researcher to support research aimed at improving relationships among people in recovery from substance use disorders. Under supervision of the Project Manager, the Research Associate will perform tasks related to data collection and management. The principal emphasis is on delivering a brief intervention and collecting, securing, and managing data from sites in Newark and Wilmington, Delaware. Major responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with research team members to implement a brief intervention to improve relationships among people in recovery from substance use disorders
  • Follow intervention protocols
  • Participate in data collection and management including but not limited to: recruiting and scheduling participants, conducting surveys, leading interviews, storing and organizing data
  • Maintain ethical standards in research, participant interactions and data management
  • Provide timely, accurate study updates on weekly basis
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with research/evaluation procedures preferred
  • Ability to use or learn computer applications including but not limited to: Google Docs, Microsoft Office, Slack, Dedoose
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures and research protocols
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ethic and commitment to missions
  • This position will require local travel in Wilmington and Newark, Delaware
