Enterprise IT (EIT) is an essential component of the current IT division that provides support to the Pharmaceutical Research, Supply Chain, Marketing organizations as well as Enabling Functions. The EIT SAP Platform Team is responsible for our Company’s SAP Global Template asset, delivering enterprise-level capabilities through harmonized business processes and data. The team is responsible for the operation of all our Company SAP and integrated solutions, governance of the associated enterprise assets, and cost-effective delivery of capabilities to support achievement of immediate and future state business objectives.
Within the EIT SAP Platform Team, the EIT SAP Integrated Delivery & Design Authority Lead will assume the crucial role of leading the SAP Design Authority. They will oversee the governance and optimization of the enterprise-wide SAP ERP asset and associated end-to-end business processes. They will provide strategic direction, manage the Design Authority team, and ensure the efficient and effective operation of the integrated business processes, including Account to Report, Order to Cash, Source to Settle, Supply Chain Management, Tax, and Financial Planning and Analysis, as well as Data standards governance, Analytics governance, and User Experience governance. They have accountability for SAP integrated delivery of Source to Settle, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Tx. Their expertise in SAP and business process governance will be instrumental in driving operational excellence. This role reports to Executive Director, SAP Platform Team
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
+ Develop and execute the strategic direction for the SAP Design Authority, aligned with organizational objectives.
+ Provide visionary leadership and guidance to the SAP Design Authority team, ensuring effective governance and adherence to best practices.
+ Lead the global teams responsible for delivery and governance of SAP Source to Settle, eCommerce, Tax, and Financial Planning and Analysis.
+ Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective SAP solutions.
SAP Design Authority Management:
+ Build and lead a matrixed, high-performing SAP Design Authority team, responsible for governing and optimizing business processes, SAP configuration and development activities.
+ Establish and enforce design principles, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency and maintain system integrity.
+ Oversee the review and approval process for SAP configuration changes, enhancements, and developments.
+ Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Design Authority team.
+ Provide mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
SAP Cross-Functional Delivery:
+ Oversee the successful delivery of SAP solutions supporting ECC Source to Settle, Tax, Financial Planning & Analysis, and eCommerce.
+ Collaborate with delivery peers to ensure best-in-class delivery from solutioning of business requirements through unit-tested, working solutions.
+ Collaborate with the Finance and Procurement Value Teams, for Tax and FP&A and Source to Settle respectively, around aligned prioritization and delivery commitments.
SAP Functional Expertise:
+ Possess end-to-end integrated business process expertise across key areas such as Financial Business Management, Order to Cash, eCommerce, Source to Settle, Supply Chain Management, Tax, and Financial Planning and Analysis.
+ Provide functional leadership and guidance to the SAP team and business users in optimizing business processes within the SAP environment.
+ Stay up to date with the latest developments in SAP functionality and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
SAP Configuration and Development Governance:
+ Ensure that all SAP configuration changes and developments align with business requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.
+ Define and enforce change control processes and methodologies to minimize system disruptions and ensure system stability.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and manage the delivery of SAP enhancements and new functionalities.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
+ Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, including finance, supply chain, and other functional areas, to understand their needs and align SAP solutions accordingly.
+ Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing insights and recommendations on leveraging SAP capabilities to drive business growth and operational excellence.
+ Foster strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and consultants to leverage their expertise and support the SAP landscape.
Data, Analytics and User Experience Governance:
+ Develop and implement data standards and governance processes to ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy within the SAP environment.
+ Lead the governance of analytics solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and data integrity.
+ Drive the adoption of analytics best practices, data visualization standards, and self-service analytics capabilities.
+ Establish user experience (UX) standards and guidelines to ensure a consistent and intuitive SAP user interface.
Desired Education Level:
+ Bachelor’s Degree is required. Concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred.
Required Skills & Experience:
+ 8+ years of SAP solution experience required
+ Life Sciences Industry experience preferred
+ 3+ years working with SAP S/4HANA preferred
+ Functional integration lead experience preferred
+ Cross-functional business process experience required
+ SAP delivery team leadership experience required
+ Experience working in a collaborative, matrixed environment preferred
+ Strong leadership skills with experiences in managing and developing teams
+ Proven record of excellent performance
+ Proficiency with project management tools used by our Company
+ Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience; competence in clear concise and tactful communication with senior management, clients, peers and team members
+ Knowledge of lean process and service attributes
+ Broad-based knowledge of industry leading practices for IT and business process improvement
+ Demonstrates an executive presence through good communication and professionalism
+ Service finance and budget management
