Job Description
As a Manager of Software Engineering, AWS and ETL at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking (Data Delivery), you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices. Job responsibilities
+ Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
+ Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
+ Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
+ Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
+ Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
+ Provides strong technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers and engineers, ensuring the highest standards of software development and deployment practices.
+ Demonstrates proficiency in AWS services with a focus on designing and implementing scalable and efficient solutions.
+ Leads the implementation of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to facilitate the efficient and reliable deployment of applications.
+ Actively engages in hands-on coding and participate in code reviews to ensure high quality codebases and drive technical excellence within the team.
+ Utilizes expertise in performance tuning to optimize the applications for responsiveness, scalability, and efficiency.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
+ Formal training, or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience.
+ Experience leading technology projects and managing technologists throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
+ Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
+ Strong in ETL tools to design and optimize data flows, ensuring efficient data processing
+ Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
+ In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
+ Proficiency in AWS services with demonstrated experience in deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions.
+ Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
+ Strong proficiency in Java, Python, Spark, and SQL with proven track record of developing and deploying complex applications.
+ In-depth knowledge of performance tuning, troubleshooting, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
+ Strong communication, leadership skills and cross-team collaboration skills.
