Senior Software Engineer, DevOps (Remote-Eligible)
Do you love building and pioneering in the technology space? Do you enjoy solving complex business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, inclusive, and iterative delivery environment? We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, DevOps to support our Application Scaffolding team!
The Application Scaffolding Pipeline (ASP) team enables developers to expedite new application/project setup through automation and scaffolding (initial project setup, CI/CD, etc.) using pre-configured project templates. This process enables developers to start working directly on their feature code, rather than having to worry about all the details of the initial setup of a new project. Our team creates new serverless projects, lambdas and container based applications, as well as datastore implementations.
We create these templates to support four language based applications (Python, Java, NodeJS and GoLang), many application configurations (Lambdas, ECS clusters, Fargate, Static content sites), and multiple datastore implementations.
The ASP team is part of the larger Cloud and Productivity Engineering organization and responsible for providing foundational infrastructure services and shaping the future of Capital One with its support of strategic objectives, such as becoming cloud native through cloud safety and smart cost management, or by looking into what we do well and how we can commercialize it. CPE also focuses on shaping the developer experience, staying well-managed with our products and portfolios, and creating access experiences that enable associates to deliver on Capital One's mission.
What You'll Do:
Assist in building out the additional templates and improving the ones we currently support
Collaborate with external teams to assist them in developing their own templates for their common use cases
Ensure vulnerabilities are well managed through process, tooling, and automation improvements
Design and implement new automation pipelines and processes
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
Capital One is open to hiring a Remote Employee for this opportunity.
At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience
2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker
2+ years of experience creating automation tooling or pipelines
2+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices
