Job Description

the Senior Business Systems Analyst performs analysis of client business requirements in comparison to the standard features and capabilities of the Fiserv online/mobile banking software/platforms. The Senior Business Systems Analyst identifies gaps and consults with the customer in providing solutions for gap items. The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for the following:

Business Analysis

• Effectively deliver high quality customer and internally facing documentation and analysis activities including Functional Specifications.

• Create and maintain high quality documentation and analysis activities throughout the lifetime of a project.

• Consult to understand current business environment and client requirements and apply this as well as prior business environment and client requirements experience to provide business analysis deliverables and input into Professional Services’ project management/business analysis continual improvement processes and strategies.

Technical Issues and Risks

• Triage business analysis defects from implementation and customer teams to determine if the defect does conflict with business requirements as captured in the specification documents.

• Create, establish and maintain processes for managing business analysis defects, issues and risks throughout the lifetime of a project and/or an initiative.

• Plan for contingencies to respond to potential but unlikely events.

Stakeholder Communication and Management

• Strive to exceed the expectations of cost, time and resource requirements using clear communication, including regular status updates on all business analysis activities.

• Attend customer project workshops, participating in and potentially leading appropriate sessions.

• Attend customer and internal meetings, participating in and potentially leading appropriate sessions, capturing accurate requirements and establishing and delivering high quality business analysis deliverables on time.

Documentation

• Create and maintain business analysis documentation, ensuring high level of specification quality and consistency.

• Critically assess the existing specification and documentation set and provide recommendations for improvement.

• Incorporate approved improvements into the specification and documentation set on an on-going basis.

• Lead the continuous improvement of reference material by proactively filling gaps, correcting mistakes and resolving ambiguity. Seek review from peers and leadership on proposed changes.

Task Management and Completion

• Accept, work to and refine tasks as provided by project managers or other appropriate managers, giving accurate effort estimates.

• Lead prioritization of tasks based on importance and urgency, and complete tasks.

• Remain focused on long-term goals when executing against short-term objectives.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements

• Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with online/mobile banking products or professional services online/mobile banking solutions in the areas of retail or commercial banking.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an external “customer-facing” position.

• Minimum of 2 years in a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst role required.

• Strong listening and interpersonal skills, meeting facilitation skills. organizational skills.

• Strong writing, editing, communications, and decision-making skills.

• Strong grasp of Microsoft (MS) Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and MS Visio.

• Experience with Waterfall methodology.

• Familiarity with use of Agile stories as requirements gathering/analysis tool.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Skills Desired

• 3 years of financial service industry experience.
