Job Summary (Primary function)
The Senior Manager of Market Insight will provide innovative and value added customer and market insights leveraging a variety of data sources and sound market research and analysis skills. This position will generate market insights that support effective decision making, tactic development within marketing, sales, market access and other commercial functions. This includes, but are not limited to, primary research, secondary research and quantitative data analysis that guide key business decisions related to marketing strategy, forecasting, reimbursement / access, sales and life cycle management. The position will support hematology and oncology indications pre and post launch. This position reports to the Executive Director of Market Insights and Forecasting.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
Provide market insight support for assigned hematology/oncology indications to inform strategy and tactic development in collaboration with Product Strategy, Market Access, Medical Affairs and Business Operations team members through application of robust qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
Lead all phases of primary and secondary market research activities including needs identification, project design, survey design, stimuli creation, coordinating with internal stakeholders and managing external vendors. Translate insights into simple and actionable recommendations through generation of analysis plans, report development and presentation of research findings.
Collect, analyze and synthesize market information from diverse sources to provide insight on market dynamics, competitive landscape, products and performance.
Establish and manage tracking studies, KPIs and routine performance tracking for hematology/oncology indications (ie. ATU, Chart Audit, Message Recall, data purchases, report definition, etc).
Able to conceptualize and build an analytic plan, mine through data to uncover relevant insights and develop and communicate clear and concise presentation of results and compelling business recommendations.
Provide analysis and input on forecasting assumptions and incorporate key metrics into tracking studies.
Maintains in-house acquired knowledge and develops rich interpretation of research findings.
Ensures appropriate compliance and legal requirements are incorporated and reviewed in a timely manner.
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative experience with Primary (ie. ATUs, Chart Audits, Landscape Studies, Patient Journey, Message Recall and Testing, etc.) and Secondary (Prescription, Sales, EMRs, Claims Data etc) research studies and analysis that delivers actionable insights for pharmaceutical products.
Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical capability and critical thinking skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Proven ability to effectively interact with stakeholders and decision makers and work cross functionally.
Independently and effectively prioritizes and manages requests in line with business priorities.
Minimum 3 to 8 years experience in market research/analytics role in the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry required.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint required with ability to develop compelling data visualization and content.
Bachelor's Degree required, advanced degree and/or specialization in quantitative or scientific discipline preferred.
Hematology/Oncology market knowledge and experience preferred.
Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically to attend research, conferences and other events.
