Synthetic Chemistry Technologist
Electronics and Industrial
DuPont Electronics and Industrial (E&I) is seeking to fill the position of Synthetic Chemistry Technologist. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team in Emerging Technologies within the E&I division. The position will provide chemistry discovery and development support in a team environment for small molecule organic synthesis and polymerization of electronic materials. Preference will be given to candidates with more than two years of hands-on industrial experience in a chemistry lab setting.
+ Chemistry Discovery & Development
+ Perform organic synthesis and/or polymerizations. Carry out synthesis, isolation, purification steps on small scale for new electronic materials discovery and development.
+ Lab and Equipment Operations
+ Ability to work in a team environment
+ Manage and maintain laboratories and reaction equipment, including writing SOPs, training other operators, equipment maintenance and upkeep, and safety documentation.
+ Accurately follow and maintain detailed batch records and electronic lab notebooks
+ Frequent communication with the team and provide technical feedback
+ Occasional extended shifts and flexible work hours required
+ Proven safety track record with commitment to ZERO incidents/injuries
+ Experience working with hazardous chemicals
+ Proven track record of meeting project goals on aggressive timelines.
+ Experience in organic and polymer synthesis and purification.
+ Purification Experience Includes:
+ Preparative Chromatography
+ Achieving low metals specifications
+ Familiarity with a variety of analytical techniques is desirable.
+ HPLC, UPLC, LCMS
+ Karl Fisher
+ Experience in organic semiconductor or electronic materials synthesis is a plus
+ BS Chemistry with synthetic experience; Greater than two years of industrial experience in a Chemistry lab a plus
+ Excellent organization and communication skills (written and verbal)
+ Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
+ Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc, and the ability to learn new systems quickly is preferred
+ Agile learner and willingness to be challenged with new research
+ MS in organic or polymer synthesis is a plus
