DuPont Water & Protection, Water Solutions (DWS) is a $1.4 Bn water technology leader, focused on solving global challenges in water purification, conservation, and reuse. DWS serves its thousands of customers in diverse industries through four major market segments i.e., Residential/Commercial. Industrial, Municipal, Life Sciences and Specialty using multiple technologies from its portfolio across major geographies of the world.
The Ion Exchange Resins segment of the Water Solutions business unit is hiring a R&D Engineer to develop and deliver process technology innovation to meet sustainability and profitability goals and to lead scale-up and commercialization of new products. The successful candidate will lead multi-disciplinary global project teams to drive R&D programs from the lab to the plant scale, working closely with laboratory scientists, commercial and marketing representatives, and manufacturing teams. This role will report into the R&D organization.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Lead project teams from idea generation through scale-up and commercialization to successfully drive innovation to market.
Design lab studies and oversee R&D lab resources to develop and evaluate new process technology to meet sustainability and profitability targets for the business.
Serve as critical link between laboratory scientists and manufacturing team to ensure smooth scale-up of new products and technology.
Identify new opportunities and gaps in existing technology and operations to create programs and strategically broaden the portfolio.
Engage with technical experts within DuPont and in the broader scientific community to bring front-edge capabilities to the business.
Document and communicate learnings and best practices to internal and external partners.
Understand alignment and prioritization of programs to business technology strategy.
Support safe operating practices.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MS or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering
2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Manufacturing, Process R&D, or Product Development R&D – please review and confirm the new years of experience
Ability to travel on-site to manufacturing facilities as needed (up to 25% of time, including international travel)
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills are required
Track record of scale-up of new product or process technology from laboratory to manufacturing scale
Experience in working with global teams
