First State Orthopaedics is seeking Full-Time and Part-Time Radiological Technologists and Clinical Assistants to assist Orthopaedic Surgeons in our Newark and Dover office locations. The Radiological Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care, including: proper positioning of patient, technical factor selection, patient identification, radiation protection, and professional patient care, assessment and documentation. Duties also include assisting and managing administrative and clinical tasks for physicians. Must have working availability between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm Monday-Friday.
Radiologist Responsibilities and Duties
•    Perform diagnostic radiographic services on PACS (Fusion One) system.
•    Update information as appropriate in EMR and PACS.
•    Review pertinent clinical information with physician’s/staff prior to exam.
•    Preparation of x-ray room prior to exam.
•    Explain radiology procedure to patient
•    Ensure patient is positioned properly according to protocol.
•    Adjust equipment to obtain correct angle
•    Modify x-ray views and patient positioning to obtain optimal images secondary to a patient’s diagnosis or their inability to perform standard positioning.
•    Take preventive steps to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation
•    Transfer patient to imaging table (may involve lifting, bracing and/or supporting patient’s body weight).
•    Critique images for overall quality prior to recording in patients x-ray file
•    Operate autoclave for sterilization of equipment
•    Organize daily work schedule and respond to emergencies as necessary
•    Working knowledge of EHR and EPM system, experience with Next Gen a plus
•    Prepare patient for examination, instruct patient on procedures and assist with examination
•    Perform clinical tasks: remove casts/dressing, remove sutures/staples and prepare injections
•    Generate forms for scheduling tests, surgery, physical therapy, work notes, Rx's & patient instructions.
Qualifications and Skills.
Radiology Technologists: Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Registered and Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensed by the state of Delaware.
Good computer skills and experience with PACS system. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to make independent decisions using critical thinking, problem solving and perform responsibilities under stressful situations. Meet technical standards. Must be capable of working variable schedules.
Clinical Assistant Responsibilities and Duties
•    Working knowledge of EHR and EPM systems
•    Document and update patient information in EHR system
•    Update patient medication list.
•    Organize daily work schedules and respond to emergencies as necessary.
•    Prepare patient for examination, instruct patient on procedure, and assist physician during exam.
•    Perform clinical task: remove casts/dressing, remove sutures/staples, and prepare injections.
•    Order radiology studies in EHR.
•    Generate necessary forms for scheduling tests, surgery, Physical therapy, work/gym excuses, scripts for medication and patient instructions.
•    Fit patients with durable medical equipment and generate prescriptions as prescribed by physician.
•    Store durable medical equipment
•    Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments.
•    Perform all wok duties as assigned to meet the department needs.
•    Interact professionally with patients, physicians and co-workers.
•    Follow pre-established guidelines and policies to perform the functions of the job.
•    Working knowledge of other FSO departments to obtain quality care for all patients.
Qualifications and Skills:
Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program outside High School, educational background in PT, exercise science, or related field, or ARRT registration preferred but not necessary. Strong computer and interpersonal communication skills required. Experience preferred.
