Job Description

JPMorgan Chase & Co. has an opening for a Software Engineer position in its Newark, DE office.

JOB DUTIES: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Work with multiple technology and business teams and drive the accurate and complete data for regulatory reporting. Perform system integrating testing and support and guide the business around user acceptance testing and production.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Master’s degree in Computing and Information Sciences, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience as a Software Engineer, Analyst (IT), Application Developer/Support, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience in lieu of a Master’s degree and one (1) year of experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS: This position requires experience in the following: database technologies, including Relational Databases and Data Warehouse; data analysis, including querying databases; UNIX; SQL; reviewing code with developers and guiding them around implementation; and performing data analysis by running database queries in Oracle PL/SQL environment.
