Senior Director, Strategic Account Executive

Role:
Certara has openings in its exciting and transformational organization for highly motivated and
energetic Business Development Professionals with a proven and demonstrated track record for
identifying and expanding business in strategically targeted Tier 1 and 2 named accounts.
Our Senior Director, Strategic Account Executive will be partnering the Tier 1 and 2 Account Leaders
and with world-class expert drug development consultants in client engagements and be supported
during the Business Development process by required expert teams.
Our Account Executives will be responsible for:
Identifying and pursuing strategic business with target Tier 1 and 2 clients after qualifying
them with a needs assessment including:
o Understanding their internal resource expertise, capabilities and capacity, corporate
objectives
o Understanding their development program focus, objectives and priorities
o Understanding their critical decisions and challenges and service outsourcing strategies.
Map out each account's Corporate Management structure for the various functional
departments where our services can align with their program requirements and objectives
Take on responsibilities/activities that relieve AL's and iDD Scientific resources from tasks that
are non-scientific and burdensome in order to maximize their time for billable hour tasks
Facilitate Mutual CDA and MSA contract execution
Engage and contribute to the potential RFI and RFP process with these named target Tier 1
and 2 accounts
Establish bespoke account business plans for each of their named target accounts in
conjunction with Tier 1 and 2 AL's
Document and track closed business as well as new business opportunities in the sales funnel
using SF.com
Actively engage with Tier 1 and 2 account decision makers in closing all iDD business
opportunities
Completely interrogate the Tier 1 and 2 accounts likelihood of engaging with Certara iDD regarding
its eleven (11) service offerings.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Candidates should have at minimum a Bachelor's Degree in a science related curriculum with a
demonstrated career path in Business Development to support the sought drug development
experience and understanding required for this position.
A seasoned and well-rounded biopharmaceutical executive is required with minimum combined
business development experience of 10 years, in successfully representing drug development related
consulting services from preclinical through Phase 4 in the Biopharma space.
Thorough understanding about the role of Clinical Pharmacology and Model Informed Drug
Development (PK/PD, QSP, PBPK and MBMA) in the drug development process, with the ability to
converse with C-suite leadership in Biopharma companies about these topics and an integrated drug
development strategy is essential.
Possesses broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical space and current macro trends within the
industry. Able to lead strategic business planning process based on a thorough understanding of
industry trends and opportunities and effectively solve strategic challenges.
