Entity and activity description
The GM&T WBU delivers technological solutions (molecules, equipment and services) to support the new markets of energy transition, maritime logistics and scientific exploration, in order to accelerate Air Liquide sustainable growth.
To support the energy transition, GM&T brings environmentally friendly solutions to the clean energy market with hydrogen energy and Bio-Natural Gas for vehicles, refrigerated transport using nitrogen, but also the treatment and injection of Biogas into the energy grid as a local power source.
As a player of the deep tech sector, GM&T commercializes technologies dedicated to Space, Aerospace and scientific exploration. GM&T also supplies gases for players in of the maritime sector and provides logistics for cryogenic transportation by sea of value added molecules, such as helium.
GM&T employs 1,800 people world-wide and generated a 2017 revenue of 372 million.
This role provides technical expertise and hands-on support of factory automation systems - hardware and software - for a continuous-shift (24-7) gas separation membrane manufacturing operation. This role will develop additional depth to our PLC support capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, serve as a safety role model; promote a high level of safety awareness; adhere to and support the continuous improvement of all safety practices / procedures
Perform routine calibrations for all production equipment. Ensuring all instruments are completed on time.
Maintain all calibration equipment to have current NIST status.
Maintain, and troubleshoot existing production systems including instrumentation, motors, valves, variable speed drives, PLC's.
Work with Process Control Engineer and Manufacturing personnel to ensure reliable operation of equipment and control systems for polymer solution preparation, fiber spinning, washing, dehydration, and coating, bundle/cartridge forming, winding, and casting, bundle/cartridge post-treatment, bundle/cartridge testing.
Interact w/ other members of the Technology Group, R&D, Manufacturing and Maintenance to accomplish the tasks
Support operation with on-call responsibilities after-hours and weekends
Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Competencies
High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in instrumentation required (such as Rosemount Transmitters, Allen-Bradley Variable frequency drives, Endress & Hauser Flow Meters )
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting process control systems
Strong troubleshooting skills and problem-solving capability
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English language
Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times.
Ability to operate in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
Ability to interact collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels including vendors
Typical 24/7 operational manufacturing facility
