The Role

We are looking for an individual to join our Network Implementations Reporting and Analytics team who is excited to solve data problems and evolve our data stories in fast paced highly visible team.

As a Lead Data Engineer you will be the backbone of the team managing 3 schemas, (sourcing, cleansing, and transforming the data), and leading our team to the future of what data can do for the business. Working together with the team of reporting analysts and BI developers to solve business problems through data, automation, and dashboards. The data solutions built and operated by you would rival the absolute best in the industry in engineering, operations, and usability excellence.

Main Responsibilities

+ Analyze data to provide meaningful insights. This individual must have strong data manipulation and interpretation skills.

+ Clearly communicate analysis and complex concepts to non-technical audiences orally and verbally.

+ Capture, develop, and document data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements.

+ Perform ad hoc and recurring reporting and analysis as needed.

+ Collaborate with team mates to support needs creatively to provide appropriate insights to the business.

+ Conduct data analysis, build models and reports, and identify key insights that can help solve business problems

Additional Responsibilities

+ Collaborate with project teams to synthesize findings and develop data-driven narratives and strategies

+ Create and manage data views in Oracle DBMS, including ETL work.

+ Create and manage dataflows in Power BI environment and gateways

+ Create and maintain python scripts for automated reporting, API, predictive modeling, and data analysis

Qualifications We Look For

+ Experience building data models and performing complex queries using SQL

+ Experience performance tuning large datasets

+ Experience building large data pipelines and/or web services

+ Intermediate programming skills with Python / R and other scripting languages

+ 1+ years of experience in building integration with upstream and downstream systems with REST APIs

We Also Look For

+ Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills

+ Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business teams, drive issues to closure

+ Strong understanding of data engineering and data stewardship roles in an organization

+ Strong time management and organization skills. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.

+ Experience in defining business requirements – prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis.

+ Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

+ BA/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related technical field such as Statistics or Data Science

+ Oracle DBMS data development and management experience

+ Experience creating and managing ETLs and Stored Procedures

Preferred Qualifications

+ Familiarity with Kafka

+ Power BI development experience is highly valued

+ Power Apps and Power Automate using model driven and canvas driven apps

+ Combined IT and Marketing background

+ Machine Learning, Data Science, and statistical modeling experience are highly valued

+ Telecom industry experience preferred
